Intuit Lending Profile

Responsibilities: Product Strategy & UX Design

Background

Having refreshed the credit score experience, it became glaringly obvious to our team that the credit system is largely broken. We met a lot of users who have fallen victim to the system that only works for those who are already doing well, and penalizes those who are struggling. We saw too many users who are suffering the damage from small mistakes made years ago, and in some cases, mistakes weren't even made by the users themselves.

So when we wrapped up the refresh, I decided to envision a new world without credit scores. Something that spans across country borders, rewards people for their financial behavior and allows for a community of verified business owners and lenders to vouch for people.

Combining the rich data reserve thats unlocked via trade-lines in credit score, along with personal banking and tax data that Intuit has access to, I reimagined a lending profile system that allows lenders to see the full financial picture of people before making lending decisions, one that is not riddled with harsh terms like poor for an otherwise stellar payment history of 97%

The Lending Profile was designed to be an evolution of the Turbo product
